Gifted trio presents inspiring program

¡Viva la Musica! invited the three very accomplished young musicians who comprise the Catarsis Trio to play a special concert at the Auditorio de la Ribera on March 27.

Highly talented, they are rapidly gaining acclaim for their sensitive interpretations of major works. Catarsis was initially formed to raise funds for their friend’s cancer treatment in 2010 and Thursday’s concert was dedicated to him, to mark his “all clear” test results.

The trio includes pianist Azalea Beltrán who graduated top of her class from the University of Guadalajara in 2007. Many master classes with top pianists followed. Currently a soloist and accompanist, Beltrán is on the faculty of the Music School of her alma mater.
