To help raise funds the PV Garden Club is throwing a Gala Cocktail Party at the incredible Casa Chickie in the subdivision of Coto San Xoaquin, located just south of the city on Highway 200 on February 27, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. (Directions: Go south for 4.5 kilometers on Highway 200, after you pass Costa Sur Resort, turn left into the first driveway, which is the entrance to Coto San Xoaquin.)

Tickets for this party are 400 pesos and can be bought at Carol’s Boutique on Basilio Badillo 250, Mailboxes Etc. on Ignacio Vallarta 130, Galería Dante on Basilio Badillo 269 and www.banderasnews.com/art/galleria-dante.htm.

The evening includes passed appetizers by Chef Luis Villanueva and his team from ACES (Agencia de Catering Eventos y Servicios) a bugambilia essence welcome cocktail, tequila sampling, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.  There will be three entertainment areas with the following musicians: Bohemia Viva, Piel Canela and a mariachi band to be named. There will also be a painting by Kathleen Carillo that can be won as a door prize.

Chickie built her home with the idea of hosting many charitable affairs. It was designed with the largest palapa of any private home in Banderas Bay. The new owners Nick and Larry have opened their home and allowed the Vallarta Garden Club to host this cocktail party.

The Bugambilia Festival is part of the Garden Club’s efforts to make Puerto Vallarta the bougainvillea capital of the world and turn it into an international floral and cultural event with the hopes of drawing visitors from all over Mexico, the United States and Canada.
