Fundraiser 1
About 50 people attended the successful Bingo and Schnitzel Fest, held at the home of  Franz Painer and Joanne Walsh, to raise funds for Paraiso Felino, a no-kill cat shelter in San Juan de Abajo, located about 12 miles inland from the coast.
“Generous guests raised over 9,000 pesos,” said shelter owner Janina Erban, adding that the total represents a month’s worth of food for her 200 “residents.”

Fundraising burger bash

The 6th annual Hamburger and Karaoke night fundraiser at the Los Mangos RV Park in Bucerias for the Manos de Amor children’s shelter has sold out all 350 tickets which were available for the fun evening on February 7. The new shelter building, now three years old, currently houses 28 children. This event has raised over 200,000 pesos, according to the organizers.
