Flower show & sale

The wide central divider of Avenida Chapultepec will host its annual Feria de Flores from Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26.  Expect to find viveros (nurseries) showing off their floral offerings from all over the state, in particular the flower centers of Atemejac de Brizuela, Mazamitla, Tecolotlan and Tonala.  Open from 10 a.m. Just come and browse.

Green Race

The third annual “Green Race” and Ecological Fair takes place Sunday, April 19 at the American School in Guadalajara. The U.S. Consulate General in Guadalajara is organizing the event to correspond with International Earth Day. 

The 10-kilometer race starts at 7.30 a.m., with an entrance fee of 280 pesos and the three-kilometer race sets off at  9 a.m., with a 150-peso fee. 

Last year’s event raised over 125,000 pesos from runners and corporate sponsors. 

On the day, the school will host an ecological fair where NGOs, businesses and government representatives will offer information on environmental projects. Food and drinks will be served. Everyone is welcome.
