Luau to raise funds for young soccer players

A Hawaiian Luau, complete with 30 Hawaiian dancers and additional music for dancing by Noe and Paco, will kick off with cocktails at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 20 at Rancho del Cerrito in San Nicolas de Ibarra. The event has been organized to raise the needed funds so that young lakeside soccer players can attend a major November youth soccer tournament in Puerto Vallarta.

Most of the 20 members of the Chapala Cefor Estudiantes 03-04 Soccer Club (ages 10 to 12) entered to play in the national tournament have not traveled far from Lake Chapala; this trip will be their first opportunity to see the ocean.

The Luau Buffet with roast pig, Hawaii-style chicken breast, roast potatoes, coleslaw, black beans and salad bar will open at 6 p.m. and be followed at 7 p.m. by a floorshow featuring the Hawaiian dance group. Music and dancing continues when Noe and Paco take the stage.

Ticket holders will be eligible for door prizes. Tickets are 250 pesos and may be purchased at the O&A Investment Office, telephone (376) 766-4481, Marco Ricardo Bouleau at Rey Taco Restaurant (376) 765-3029, Brenda Wyma at (376) 106-0620, or Perry King (376) 763-5126.

Round-trip shuttle bus service is available from Walmart’s parking lot to the event site for 30 pesos.
