Thanksgiving fare on tap at a multitude of lakeside eateries

This year, it seems everybody wants you to come to their Thanksgiving feast on Thursday, November 27. Lakeside offerings are varied in price, menu and style.

American Legion Post 7, Morelos 114 in Chapala, is serving a traditional feast with all the trimmings at 3 p.m. for 150 pesos.  Cocktails begin at 2 p.m. Call 766-2259. Tickets are limited.

Arileo, the steak house with a gourmet flair just over the county line in San Juan Cosala, is offering cream of roasted corn soup, stuffed turkey or prime rib and pumpkin creme brule. Call 376 106-1627 for information.

Armando’s, Privado Ocampo 18, with over 40 years serving meals to North Americans, serves Waldorf salad, turkey and the trimmings, pumpkin pie, a glass of wine and a Kahlua or brandy for 210 pesos. Call 766-2229 for reservations.

Hacienda Don Pedro, on the highway in West Ajijic, offers a bottle of wine, a glass of bubbly, an apple pineapple and pecan salad, pumpkin soup, stuffed turkey, pumpkin and honey pie, coffee and tequila for 600 pesos per couple. Dinner begins at 5 p.m. Call 766-4906 for reservations.

La Bodega, 16 de Septiembre 124 in Ajijic, serves dinner from 1 to 9 p.m. The menu is broccoli soup, turkey with stuffing and all the trimmings and a glass of wine for 210 pesos. Call 766-1002 for reservations.

La Nueva Posada, Donato Guerra 9 in Ajijic, is serving tomato bisque, Pernod of croutons, homemade croissant, turkey with sage stuffing and all the trimmings, sweet and sour Danish red cabbage, and spicy pumpkin pie with vanilla cream, coffee or tea and liquor for 280 pesos. Los Telares, Morelos 6 in the center of Ajijic, offers a Thanksgiving buffet including one drink and one dessert for 225 pesos. Call 766-0428 for reservations.

Mama’s Kitchen, in Riberas del Pilar (on the Carretera, next to Puritan Poultry), is serving traditional Thanksgiving fare (and their regular menu) from 2 to 5 p.m. Cost is 195 pesos. Call cel. 331-431-8643 for reservations.

Manix, at Ocampo 57 in Ajijic, offers two seatings: 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m., for its traditional Thanksgiving dinner for 250 pesos, including appetizers, buffet and dessert bar. Call 766-0061 for reservations.

Maria Isabel restaurant by the Ajijic malecon serves their fine dining buffet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The menu includes roast turkey, baked ham, burgundy beef tips, baked cod with pesto cream sauce, and a variety of vegetables, assorted salads and desserts for 200 pesos, including one drink. Panino, on the highway in San Antonio, serves a traditional Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for 130 pesos. Call 766-3822 for reservations.

Roberto’s on the highway in West Ajijic is putting on his eighth Thanksgiving feast including seafood mousse, house pate, carrot croquettes, crab bisque, holiday salad, U.S. organic raised roast turkey with all the trimmings, or filet of salmon au artichoke or filet steak Dianne. Salvador’s at Plaza Bugamilias offers dinner from noon to 6 p.m. The menu is roast turkey and stuffing with all the trimmings, baked ham, corn bread, Waldorf, green and pasta salad, pumpkin and pecan pie and other desserts, a glass of wine, beer or margarita,  tea, coffee or soft drink for 180 pesos.
