Telmex boosts internet capacity in Ajijic

Ajijic residents who have been left on hold for the past six weeks will be relieved to learn that Telmex has finally completed an upgrade of its local Internet equipment and resumed business for new Infinity service contracts.

With the town’s Internet capacity maxed out since early November, new clients were turned away with no option other than putting their names on a lengthy waiting list. According to customer service personnel at the Ajijic Telmex office, the situation was finally rectified at the end of last week.

Infinity is now readily available in the Ajijic area, central Chapala and points in between. However, people living in some other zones along the north shore corridor are still out of luck. Existing infrastructure is insufficient to handle additional Internet customers in downtown Jocotepec and subdivisions north of Chapala, such as Brisas and Chapala Haciendas.

Also, new telephone lines are currently unavailable in Riberas del Pilar.
