Mobile unit issues driver’s licenses

Dozens of Chapala government employees lined up at the local police station Tuesday, February 16 to take advantage of a mobile unit set up by Jalisco’s Secretaria de Movilidad (Transportation Department) for the issuance driver’s permits.

The one-day service, geared principally for personnel assigned to drive government-owned vehicles, handled 150 applications for first time and renewed licenses. The city has requested a repeat of the itinerant program to include access for the general public.

The exact date, perhaps as soon as next week, had not been confirmed at press time.
