Barry Wayne O’Hara

Barry Wayne O’Hara passed away peacefully at his home in Ajijic on August 24 at the age of 69.

Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, O’Hara had a career with the National Hockey League that spanned 35 years.  He refereed for 12 years and then took on the role of supervisor to officiate referee performance.  He spent many years coaching and officiating amateur sports, including hockey, baseball and football.

O’Hara retired to Mexico three years ago with his wife Linda. He was an avid golfer and marshaled at the Lake Chapala Country Club.
He is survived by his wife Linda Dutton and four children from a previous marriage: Barry Jr, Michael, Janine, Jim. O’Hara had four granddaughters.
