Obituary – Lloyd Johnson

Lloyd Johnson, 77, a winter resident of Ajijic since 2005, died Thursday, January 1. 

Johnson was born June 1, 1937, in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Canada, where he graduated from Mount Allison University, before moving to Toronto.

Johnson and his wife, Ardith, had many wonderful years together as they raised their family, enjoyed a cottage at Port Elgin, traveled, and then wintered at Lake Chapala. Johnson’s family was his passion, as were his many friends, cooking, entertaining and singing with his vibrant bass voice in church choirs and Los Cantantes del Lago.

Johnson is survived by his wife, their daughter Lara, and her husband Julian, as well as their son Bradley, his wife Stephanie, and their daughter Alexandra. He is also survived by his brother Ralph, sister Karen, and a host of friends in Canada and at Lakeside.

A celebration of Johnson’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 10 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Riberas del Pilar. A reception follows in the garden. Those who wish may make memorial donations to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church.
