The Costalegre Rotary Club hosts its seventh annual Chili Cookoff on the main plaza in Barra de Navidad on Sunday, January 26, from noon to 6:30 p.m.
Organizers promise a day full of entertainment, prizes, food and fun.
Entry forms for those who wish to participate and show off their best chili recipe are available at www.costalegre-rotary.org.
After the event concludes, there will be live rock and roll music under the stars from 7-10 p.m.
Every peso of profit from this event goes to local schools and needy projects in the district.
One of the club’s current projects is to build a new computer room for the Conception Gonzalez Kindergarden near the soccer stadium in Barra de Navidad. “Learning to speak and use computers starts at such an early age nowadays – something many older people do not realize,” says Costalegre Rotary Publicity Director Tom Lymbery.
