Hotel, restaurant bargains on offer in Costalegre

State authorities are lending their support to a campaign in which hotels and restaurants on Jalisco’s southern coastline will offer tourists attractive discounts, as the area tries to get back on its feet in the wake of Hurricane Patricia.

Hotels in the region known as the Costalegre, running from Barra de Navidad in the south to Chamela in the north, will offer three nights for the price of two through March of next year.  Eateries of all kinds will discount meals by up to 30 percent.

The Jalisco government has promised to promote the discount packages throughout the state and further afield. Officials reckon it will take another three months to repair all the infrastructure damaged by the powerful storm that ravaged the area on October 23.  More than 200 families saw their fragile homes blown away by the fierce winds.
