Earthquake shakes western Mexico

No damage or casualties were reported after an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale shook western Mexico on Wednesday afternoon.
Recorded at 3.23 p.m., the epicenter was close to the city of Colima and it was felt as far afield as Guerrero, Jalisco and Mexico City. As a precaution at least eight buildings were evacuated in Jalisco and many more in Mexico City
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimated that 177,000 people would have felt a moderate shaking and a further 2.7 million people would have felt a light shaking.
