Akram Khan Dance Company

The penultimate presentations in the May Cultural Festival feature  the 14-year-old Akram Khan Company, one of the foremost innovative dance outfits in the United Kingdom, present the show “Kaash.”  Danced by a strong international cast of performers,  Kaash (the Hindi word for “if only”) continues Khan’s quest to build bridges between the worlds of contemporary dance and the Indian classical dance form Kathak, which traces its origins to the nomadic bards of ancient northern India, known as Kathakars or storytellers.

Casa Museo Lopez Portillo

Joe Sanders Infinity

The Jazz at Lincoln Center series continues with a concert featuring one of the most sought-after bass players of his generation. Sanders has played, recorded and toured with many great musicians, including Ravi Coltrane, Herbie Hancock and Dave Brubeck, among others. A graduate of the Thelonious Monk Institute, his Infinity band plays in jazz clubs in New York City, and he tours frequently in Europe with the Gerald Clayton Trio.

Joven Ballet de Jalisco
