‘The Messiah’

Jewish music
The free Tuesday music series, Martes de Música y Ópera, has shortened its December offerings to just two programs at the beginning of the month. On December 9, local singer Jaramar (above) is joined by clarinetist Nathalie Braux, guitarist Luis Javier Ochoa and double bassist Diego Martínez Lanz in a program titled “Entre la Pena y el Gozo” (Between Pity and Pleasure), showcasing Sephardic music, which has its roots in the musical traditions of the Jewish communities in medieval Spain and Portugal.  No tickets are sold for these performances. Just turn up.
