The International Book Fair (FIL) closed with a rare display of British-Argentine cordiality, as Mila Milosevic (left), director of the British Council in Mexico, exchanged gifts with Argentina’s Culture Secretary Franco Vitali (right).
Argentina was the guest at this year’s fair; the United Kingdom has the honor in 2015. University of Guadalajara Rector Tonatiuh Bravo described the 28th FIL as an opportunity to “enjoy the words and culture” of the South American country. An estimated 767,000 visitors attended the fair this year and spent over $US5.4 million.
