Folk dance

Tuesday recitals

The Martes de Música y Ópera series sponsored by the Jalisco Culture Department attracts some truly stellar classical performers and it’s all free!  Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. July 12: Alvaro Lárez (violin) and Blandine Tricot (piano) play pieces by Mozart, Wieniawski, Franck, Lárez and Kreisler. July 19:  Operatic classics, plus romantic Mexican tunes with Monserrat Hernández Zuñiga (soprano), Miguel Frausto (tenor), Jorge Luis Godinez (piano) and Salvador Ramos (bass). July 26: Melodies from La Belle Epoque with Laetitia Grimaldi Spitzer (soprano) and Ammiel Bushakevitz (piano).

Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra

Russian pianist Daniil Kharitonov joins JPO director Parisotto for the summer season finale.  Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92 will conclude the concert, following three more of the German master’s works: Egmont, Op. 84; Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat (“Emperor”) and Coriolan Overture Op. 62.
