Opera stars in-the-making to showcase talents at Degollado

Tickets for the final of Operalia, Placido Domingo’s international competition for rising opera stars, go on sale at the Teatro Degollado and though Ticketmaster on Friday, July 8.

(Each person can only buy two tickets.) The final on Sunday, July 24, 6 p.m. at the theater is the only day of the six-day competition that is open to the public. 

Forty contestants aged between 25 and 32 will be vying for prizes in several categories.  None are from the United States, seven from Mexico, five from Russia and two from Canada. Other nationalities represented are France, Poland, Sweden, South Korea, Ukraine, Kosovo, Cuba, South Africa, China and Spain.

Pacido Domingo’s Operalia is proud to present the Quarterfinalists of the 23rd. Edition of the Competition to take place at the Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara Mexico, this summer from Monday, July 19 to Sunday, July 24.

In past editions, Domingo has taken up the baton to conduct the orchestra on finals day.
