Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra

The third “Jalisco Talents” program welcomes acclaimed Mexican pianist Abdiel Vázquez and invited Tapatio conductor Enrique Radillo in a performance of Jalisco composer Juan Pablo Contreras’ Concierto para Piano “Pirámide del Sol.” In the second half of the program, the JPO’s musical director Marco Parisotto conducts Gustav Holst’s The Planets.

Live from the Met

The New York Met presents a simulcast of Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho’s breakthrough opera L’Amour de Loin, in a dazzling new production by Robert Lepage, featuring glimmering ribbons of LED lights that extend across the length of the stage and over the orchestra pit.

You always know Christmas is around the corner when  announcements start to appear for performances for the holiday ballet favorite, The Nutcracker. Based on a book by Marios Petipa, with music by Tchaikovsky, this ballet is always a delight for both children and adults. Here are four options to see the famous piece in Guadalajara performed by quality troupes in the coming weeks.
