Busy days at Ajijic Cultural Center

Efren Gonzalez is wrapping up his three-year stint as director of the Centro Cultural de Ajijic (CCA) with a full program of special events that will keep gallery spaces and the newly refurbished stage area buzzing with activity from next weekend through the end of the month. 

Friday, September 18Art auction, 4:30 p.m., at the CCA entrance on the plaza.

Saturday, September 19 Exhibit openings, 6 p.m., “Eternidad,” stone sculpture by José Velazquez to be unveiled alongside a display of Gonzalez’s own paintings on the ground floor; Foto Septiembre group photography show, upstairs.

Sunday, September 20 CCA director’s report, 4 p.m.; followed by dance programs, Academia Kulele and Ballet Son de México, 5:30 p.m.

Monday, September 21Music by Ensamble Latino, 7 p.m.  

Wednesday, September 23Orquesta Típica de Chapala, 8 p.m. 

Thursday, September 24 –  Soprano Gabriela de Loza in concert, 6 p.m. 

Friday, September 25“Monólogos de la Vagina,” theater in Spanish, 7 p.m. 

Saturday, September 26Ballet Folklórico Xicantzy, 6 p.m.
