A cappella groups set to charm lakeside, metro-area audiences

The Lake Chapala area will host three concerts in this year’s Jalisco Canta festival for a cappella vocal groups and solo performers.

The festival opens on Tuesday, September 27, with three simultaneous concerts to be held in Chapala and the Guadalajara metropolitan area.

The five-member Vocal Voces from Cuba appears at the Auditorio de la Ribera in Ajijic at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Soprano Joycee Díaz from Mexico, accompanied by Alejandro Vigo on piano, is scheduled to perform at the Teatro Alarife Martin Casillas in Guadalajara at 8 p.m.  And Vocal Tonoami, a local group, will sing at the Templo de Santa Anita in Tlaquepaque from 8 p.m.

On Wednesday, September 28, Díaz and Vigo entertain at the Centro Cultural González Gallo in Chapala at 7 p.m., while the Vox Populi Project perform at the same venue on Friday, September 30, 7 p.m. All the concerts are free of charge.

Wednesday, September 28: Soprano Anisley Martínez (Cuba) with the Camerata de Zapopan, Templo de Santa Rita, Avenida Guadalupe, 8 p.m.

Thursday, September 29: Giovanna Piazza, Museo Pantaleon Panduro, Tlaquepaque, 8 p.m.

Vocal Voces, Parque Metropolitano, Zapopan, 8 p.m.

Friday, September 30: SineNomine (Colombia), Plaza de las Américas, Zapopan, 8 p.m.

Saturday, October 1: Closing gala. Vox Populi Project, Sine Nomine and Vocal Voces, Jardín Hidalgo, Tlaquepaque, 8 p.m.
