Christ Church Episcopal
Christ Church Episcopal (CCE) will observe the Sixth Sunday of Easter by celebrating The Holy Eucharist Rite Two at 9:30 a.m. on May 1 at the Little Chapel by the Lake, located at Carretera 10 in Chula Vista. Fr. Danny Borkowski will preside and give a message with the theme “(Un)conditional Love,” based on John 14:23-29.
The congregations of Christ Church and Little Chapel by the Lake share a common fellowship time between their two services, from about 10:35 to 11:10 a.m.
Christ Church sponsors a Bible Study Tuesday, 2 p.m. Join them and spend an hour tackling the Book of Genesis.
Little Chapel
Sunday, May 1, the Little Chapel by the Lake will be host to guest speaker, Paul F. Allen, who will address “Where is God’s Church?” Praise and Worship Service starts at 11:15 a.m., after coffee and refreshments shared with Christ Church from 10:35 to 11:10 a.m. Communion will be served on the Sunday, May 1.
The community at Lakeside is asked to help Little Chapel continue its ministry of food parcels to the poor in San Juan Tecomatlan via donations to the white box in front of the chapel.
The Little Chapel is a nondenominational Christian fellowship. It is located at Carretera 10 in Chula Vista, east of the golf course entrance. Inquiries at 766-2538.
New Hope Christian
The non-denominational congregation of the New Hope Christian Fellowship meets in the upper room of the Presbyterian Church in Riberas del Pilar.
During the worship at 11 a.m., Pastor Gene Raymer will deliver a message on “Power.” The pastor says, “There are many who abuse their power, some who do not exercise their power, and some who use their power according to the teachings and example of Jesus. Our goal is to understand Jesus’ example and bring our own lives closer to that example.”
Members of the congregation meet at a local restaurant to continue the spirit of fellowship they have shared in the sanctuary. Beginning this month, another opportunity to share that spirit of fellowship will be added. On the first Thursday of each month, members of the congregation will gather for an international dinner at a member’s home. “It’s more than a pot luck where some stop by Wal-Mart and pick up something off the shelves or a cake from the bakery. The dinners will be on Thursday evening giving everyone time to invest in their efforts.” explains Rev. Raymer. “Each month will have a different theme and dishes will reflect a particular country or a particular holiday.”

San Andres English
On Sixth Sunday of Easter, May 1, Fr. Basil G. Royston, D. Min. will offer the homily “The Radiant Glory of God.”
“The Holy Spirit is the radiant glory of God that enlightens the Church and guides it on its way through the world in all its decisions.,” says Fr. Royston.
San Andres holds a “First Sunday of the Month Food Drive” to help support the children at Villa Infantil orphanage and the Sisters who care for them. Please bring a non-perishable food item, toilet tissue, cleaning products, and the like to Sunday’s Liturgy.
San Andres is located at the corner of Ramon Corona and Parroquia, one block from the Ajijic main plaza.
Lakeside Presbyterian
Sunday, May 1, Marvin Golden is the guest preacher at the Lakeside Presbyterian Church. His sermon is entitled, “Jesus Said Be Hungry and Thirsty.”
Lakeside Presbyterian Church meets in their new church building in Riberas. Turn toward the lake at Mom’s Restaurant; the church is two blocks down on the right. English-language services at 10 a.m. and Spanish-language services at noon.
St. Andrews Anglican
The fourth and final pastoral care seminar at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church is this Saturday, April 30, 10:30 am. Chapala Funeral Director Cynthia Guzman will talk about the services available and how to make a trying time easier. All are welcome.
Grace — both the grace of God, and the grace which people of faith attempt to imitate — is the focus of Fr. Winston Welty’s sermon at this Sunday’s 10 a.m. worship service. “Lounging at the Side of the Pool” reflects on the story in John’s Gospel of a chronic invalid who for 38 years had never taken the steps that were thought to be necessary for his healing.
The children’s bi-lingual Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. and a coffee hour in the garden follows the worship service.
Every Sunday, the feeding programs supported by St. Andrew’s welcome donations of non-perishable food items, left in the baskets by the doors.

Unitarian Universalists
Sunday, May 1, Bob Koches talks, from a humanist perspective, about the seventh UU principle: “Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.” Kathy Koches is the service leader.
The Unitarians have moved. They now meet 10:30 a.m. at their new facility at Hidalgo 261, opposite the bell tower, on the north side of the Carretera in Riberas del Pilar.
HU Chant
Chanting HU, an ancient name for the Divine, while in a contemplative state, is a simple technique to open your heart to greater happiness, love, inner peace and understanding.
