Christ Church Episcopal
Christ Church Episcopal will observe the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost by celebrating the Holy Eucharist Sunday, July 3, 9:30 a.m. at the Little Chapel by the Lake in Chula Vista. Fr. Danny Borkowski will preside and give a message with the theme “Rejoice (in What?)!” based on Luke 10:1-11, 16-20.
The congregations of Christ Church and the Little Chapel share a common fellowship time between their two services, from about 10:35 to 11:25 a.m.
The Christ Church lunch bunch meets 11:30 a.m. at Lake Taco at Plaza Interlago on the Libramiento.
Christ Church sponsors a Bible Study Tuesday, 2 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Little Chapel. Come spend an hour tackling the Book of Revelation.
New Hope Christian
The non-denominational congregation of the New Hope Christian Fellowship will meet Sunday, June 26, 11 a.m. in the upper room of the Presbyterian Church in Riberas del Pilar. Along with hymns of praise and prayers of thanksgiving and supplication, Pastor Gene Raymer will deliver a message he is calling “Wake Up!”
Explains the pastor: “We are prone to get into a routine and become complacent in our Christian lives. God warns us to be ever alert to opportunities to serve Him.”
The group will continue its fellowship with a meal following the service at a local restaurant.

Unitarians
Sunday, July 3, Trudy Crippen will give the presentation “Home Sweet Home” at the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Whether it’s the United Kingdom deciding to leave the European Union or Donald Trump’s fear and loathing of immigrants, we are all faced with making political decisions. This is especially challenging for those of us who live in Mexico. How do we balance the interests of our original country with the interests of Mexico? Where do our loyalties lie? Crippen’s presentation explores the political responsibilities of immigration/expatriation. Gary Cleek is the service leader.
The Unitarians now meet 10:30 a.m. at Hidalgo 261 in Riberas del Pilar, opposite the bell tower, on the north side of the Carretera.
Lake Chapala Baptist
Says Brother Bob Hendrick: “A lot of old-timey gospel songs talked about heaven being the remedy for all our troubles. These days all you have to do is ‘ask your doctor if … is right for you.’ You can have heaven on earth if you can get the right prescription. The New Testament describes these bodies we live in as ‘tents.’ That is a pretty good way to describe them. A tent is too flimsy to depend on for protection. And a tent is too uncomfortable to really rest in. So, I am still counting on heaven.”

Little Chapel by the Lake
Sunday, July 3, the Little Chapel by the Lake will begin worship service at 11:30 p.m. Fellowship time will be from 11 to 11:30 a.m.
The guest speaker for June will be Pastor Ken Armstrong from Grants-Pass, Oregon. This Sunday he will conclude his series on “The Purity of Inconvenience” with the message “Inconvenient Life,” drawn from Matthew 8:16-20.
The Little Chapel is located on the Ajijic-Chapala Carretera in Chula Vista, next to the golf course.
Lakeside Presbyterian

This Sunday, July 3, Pastor Ross Arnold of Lakeside Presbyterian Church continues his series on The Cost of Discipleship with a sermon entitled “Inverse Values” – considering how Jesus calls Christians to be and to act in a fundamentally different way from the rest of the world.
Pastor Arnold will also begin a new Sunday School for Adult Bible study at 8:30 a.m., before the regular English service at 10 a.m.
Lakeside Presbyterian meets in their new church building in Riberas del Pilar. Turn toward the lake at Mom’s Restaurant. The church is two blocks down on the right. St. Andrew’s Anglican
“I think maybe God doesn’t come to cChurch every Sunday. Would you, if you were God?” With those provocative opening lines, Fr. Winston Welty’s sermon at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church leads to a deeper understanding of the meaning and consequences of true worship. Based on Psalm 66, “The Day God Came to Church” is a challenge to engage in worship that is both shared by the gathered faith community, and is at the same time intensely personal and life-changing. That worship begins with the Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m., and is preceded by the children’s bilingual Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. A coffee hour in the garden is held after the worship service.
Every Sunday, the feeding programs supported by St. Andrew’s welcome donations of non-perishable food items, left in the baskets by the church doors.

San Andres English
“The peace of Christ which we celebrate should leave its mark on us so that we become messengers of peace to all around us.” So says Fr. Basil G. Royston, D. Min., who will offer the homily “Christ Our Peace” at San Andres Catholic Church’s English-language service Sunday, July 3, 9 a.m.
This Sunday, San Andres holds a “First Sunday of the Month Food Drive” to help support the children at Villa Infantil orphanage and the sisters who care for them. Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item, toilet tissue, cleaning products, and the like to Sunday’s Liturgy.
