Making New Friends

There are many informal get-togethers organized by the ExPats group in Vallarta. This gives you a chance to meet others living here full- or part-time, or people who are on vacation. Here are April’s events:

A happy hour at Langostinos on Los Muertos Beach just north of the pier takes place Tuesday, April 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. There is a special on cocktails and they serve a wide variety of snacks and meals.

A wine and appetizer evening will be held in the Marina on Friday, April 8, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Bring a bottle of wine or your favorite beverage and an appetizer to share with approximately 40 people.

These events have proved very successful ways to have an enjoyable, relaxing evening with fellow expats. Since they are held in private homes, seating is limited and advance reservations are necessary. To make reservations, email This email address is being protected from spambots. Restaurant night at Buenos Aires Argentinian Steak House (on the Marina Vallarta malecon by the boat docks between the lighthouse and the Route 66 Diner) takes place on Wednesday, April 13, starting 6:30 p.m. sharp.

The staff at Buenos Aires is excited about having the ExPats for an evening. There are three delicious items on the special menu:

-  One-half boneless chicken grilled with a touch of lemon served with a baked potato for 175 pesos.

All dinners include their traditional salad with lettuce, tomato and onion with house dressing. Prices include food tax and food tip.

There is also a special on drinks, two for 95 pesos, which includes domestic drinks and cocktails with house liquor such as margaritas, mojitos, pina coladas, etc. This does not include wine and other drinks, and drink tips are extra.  You must make reservations and pay in advance by contacting Sara This email address is being protected from spambots.
