Shop-A-Holic

Only a few Fridays left to shop at the Marsol Hotel Market, which takes place in the lobby from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and runs through the end of April.

This year there are about 50 local vendors with specialty food, organic and gluten free products, pastries, bagels, bread, unique jewelry, art, crafts, clothing, leather, gifts, candles, home decor, accessories and a lot more.

The Marsol Hotel is located at Fca. Rodriguez 103 in Old Town Vallarta by the Los Muertos Pier.

Leisurely Tour

The Centro Historico Art Walk continues through May 25. The weekly stroll highlights Puerto Vallarta’s galleries. This is the 20th year organizers have showcased some of Mexico’s finest artists as well as artists from other countries who have decided to make Vallarta their home. The walk runs 6-10 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The self-guided tour includes nine galleries, each offering cocktails and exhibitions in the historic downtown area. Artists display their work in various mediums, including painting, sculpture, pottery and folk art. Many artists will be on hand to answer questions and talk about their work. A Forkful

The 12th Vallarta Lifestyles’ Restaurant Week is approaching and many restaurants are getting ready to feature their special, fixed-priced menus for foodies to savor throughout Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit from May 15 to 31.

Since 2005, Restaurant Week has provided diners with a unique opportunity to try new restaurants or simply enjoy their favorites at reduced prices. As a result, Restaurant Week has become one of Banderas Bay’s most well attended culinary events.

This year includes 41 of the finest establishments in town, all offering three-course menus with three options for each course. Prices are 229 or 349 pesos per person (tips and beverages are not included).

Sixteen restaurants have participated for the last three consecutive years, and the following seven restaurants have always been participants: Archie’s Wok, Café des Artistes, Daiquiri Dick’s, El Arrayán, Kaiser Maximilian, The River Café, and Trio Restaurant Bar Café.

There are also seven restaurants participating for the first time: Barrio Bistro, Benitto’s Paninoteca, Cucco’s Market Bistro & Café, Fish Market Restaurant, Maia, Pizzeria La Dolce, and Sonora a la Parrilla.

A big change for this year’s event is that the Restaurant Week Menu Guide will be able to fit into your pocket.

The list of restaurants and menus will be available online soon. Check the website VirtualVallarta.com for more information.
