An artist has created a fitting tribute to Draco, the dog shot by an auxiliary police officer on July 6.
The mural graces the outside wall of the grocery store where the dog was killed, apparently for barking at the officer. Meanwhile, the official has been released on 30,000 pesos’ bail and had his permit to carry weapons revoked. Recently enacted state laws set prison terms of six months to four years for anyone convicted of deliberately mistreating, torturing or killing an animal.
