A butcher has been released from custody after running down and killing one of three assailants who moments earlier had held up his business in Guadalajara’s Colonia San Elias.
A police report said Raul Ruvalcaba Pacheco acted in self defense when three armed men assaulted his butcher’s store as he was closing last Friday.
The thieves grabbed 250,000 pesos and three cell phones before fleeing on foot.
Ruvalcaba told investigators that he jumped into his pick up and chased after the men. When one of the assailants turned around and pointed his weapon at him seemingly ready to fire, Ruvalcaba said he ducked down and rammed him with his truck.
The gunman died at the scene, while the other two criminals escaped. No charges will be brought against Ruvalcaba.
