Media Park hosts studio session on digital technology

A throng of students from lakeside’s Instituto Tecnológico Superior (ITS) and various higher learning institutions in the Guadalajara metro area packed shoulder to shoulder in the filmmaking studio at Chapala Media Park Wednesday, November 19, to hone their skills in digital visual arts at a training workshop on the application of the Assimilate Scratch platform.

Scratch technology is a cutting-edge filmmaker’s toolset utilized for real-time color grading, color correction, 3-D compositing and post-production mastering and finishing.

The workshop was led by Juan José Saravia Mejía, president of the Mexican Association of Cinematographers and Daniel de la Vega, CEO of Sofia Films. Earlier this year De la Vega forged a partnership between Assimilite Inc. and ITS-Chapala to integrate Scratch in the school’s Digital Animation and Visual Effects laboratory program, putting students and professors at Mexico’s forefront in the field.

The workshop was repeated on November 20 for a group of audio visual and film industry professionals.
