Federal police re-arrested the son of the presumed leader of the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) just moments after a judge had released him citing illegal police procedures during his arrest on July 22.
This was the second time that Ruben Oseguera Gonzalez (“El Menchito”) had walked free. A judge released him due to “lack of evidence” in January 2014 and he enjoyed 18 months of freedom before police tracked him down last week to a residence in Zapopan.
This time, however, federal authorities had a back-up plan in case of any legal hitch. Oseguera had barely stepped outside the court building in the capital on Wednesday when police swooped and detained him on another outstanding arrest warrant concerning missing persons in the state of Michoacan.
Again in the custody of federal police, Oseguera was bundled into a helicopter and flown to the Altiplano maximum security prison for processing.
