Obituaries – Doris C. Forsell

Doris C. Forsell, a 25-year resident of Lake Chapala, died Tuesday, February 17 in Hamilton, Montana at the age of 98. 

Born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 1, 1916, Forsell was the second child of Dr. Irene Platt and Dr. Richard Clark, who later became the first two chiropractors in the state of Montana. 

She graduated from Great Falls High School and studied philosophy and music at the University of Montana. 

Forsell married Louis O. Forsell on January 1, 1940. The couple lived in Helena, Montana. She was very active in Montana politics and later was instrumental in bringing mental health services to the state. 

The Forsells moved to Lake Chapala in 1990. She was a member of Al-Anon for 48 years. 

Forsell was preceded in death by her husband and brother and sister. She is survived by her daughters, Signe (Ed) Shepherd of Hamilton, Montana; Lisa (George) Perry of Springtown, Texas; and Christine (Dave) Reese, of Salem, Oregon; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
