Martes de Musica
Free classical recitals by talented musicians are held each Tuesday at the Degollado Theater. No tickets are sold – just turn up.
October 7: Pianist Claudio Herrera gives a recital that pays homage to the 300th anniversary of the births of German composers Christoph Willibald von Gluck and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, and the 150th of Mexican composers Ricardo Castro and Alberto Alvarado.  
October 14: Liederabend, featuring Marita Zimmer (piano) and Jorge Tadeo (tenor).
October 21: Canta Cuentos. Well-known local singers present operatic favorites from the likes of Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti blended into a loose story line. Featuring sopranos Sara Montes, Monserrat Hernández, Mary Chuy Cárdenas, Rosalía Blanco, Patricia Hernández;  tenor Gabriel Padilla; barítonos Antonio Hermosillo, Ricardo Lavín and Héctor López.  
October 28: Prague Philharmonic Choir, directed by Lukáš Vasilek.

A debut concert in Guadalajara by the first female kora (a 21-string lute-bridge-harp used extensively in West Africa) player to come from a Griot (traditional storytelling/musical) family, as well as a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer from Gambia and the United Kingdom.

Ballet of the National Theatre Belgrade
Production of “Alexander,” based on the life of Alexander the Great, first premiered by this famed Serbian dance company in November 2013.  Written and choreographed by Ronald Savković, this new ballet tells the story of the mercurial Greek leader and his never-ending quest to bring more lands into his vast domain.
