Two distinct worlds collide in latest My My Productions comedy/drama

Jayme Littlejohn, artistic director/producer of My, My How Nice Productions, directs two talented Lakeside actors, Roger Larson and Ken Yakiwchuk, in a gripping, funny and moving drama, “Visiting Mr. Green” by Jeff Baron.

Shows are scheduled April 8-10 and April 14-17 at The Bravo Theatre!

Traffic accidents happen every day, but in “Visiting Mr. Green” an accident causes two worlds to collide.

Eighty-six year old Mr. Green wanders right into heavy traffic and is almost hit by a car driven by Ross Gardiner, a corporate executive moving up the ladder with American Express.  The judge gives Ross a community service sentence – once a week for six months he must visit Mr. Green.

What starts off as a comedy about two people who resent being in the same room together, develops into a drama as family secrets are revealed and old wounds opened.

Since its long run in New York with Eli Wallach in the title role, the play has been translated into 22 languages, with 500 productions in 46 countries. It has also won numerous awards, including best play and best actor in Mexico in 2007.

Playwright Baron is also an accomplished screenwriter.  His original screenplays have sold to Disney and his television writing credits include “The Tracey Ullman Show” and “Sisters.”

My, My How Nice Productions has brought some outstanding shows to lakeside over the past five years, including The Fantasticks, The Gin Game, The Cemetery Club, I Claudia, Sisters, The Way of All Fish and, most recently Glengarry Glen Ross.

“Visiting Mr. Green” opens Friday, April 8, 7:30 p.m. and plays Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. The run continues Thursday through Sunday, April 14-17. Sunday shows are at 4 p.m. while on all other days the curtain rises at 7:30 p.m.
