Northern Lights presents two outstanding fall concerts

“Superstar qualities” (Le Libre). “Stylish and articulate” (New York Times). “Vivid and powerful voice” (Boston Musical Intelligencer).

These are just some of the extraordinary comments made by reviewers of two equally exceptional musicians – David Fung, pianist, and Daniel Moody, countertenor.

Those who were privileged to see and hear Fung perform Shostakovich’s piano concerto #1 for strings and trumpet at the Northern Lights Music Festival this past February, will know that he is a truly outstanding performer, who regularly performs internationally, including recent performances with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and most major orchestras worldwide.

Moody has an outstanding countertenor voice, which has a range a full octave higher than a tenor.  He is truly astounding.
The presence of these two internationally acclaimed musicians in Ajijic is due to the artistic director of the Northern Lights Festival, Christopher Wilshere, whose relationship with the two and

Fung’s newly found love of Ajijic encouraged them to perform these two concerts to help raise funds for the festival’s student program. A chance to see and hear such renowned performers in a private home, in an intimate environment where you can chat with them afterwards is something very special. Events you should not miss!

On September 11, 2 p.m., David Fung will perform a private concert at the beautiful home of John and Mary Bragg.  Tickets will be limited to a maximum of 80 seats.

Then on September 18, 2 p.m., countertenor Daniel Moody will entertain at the home of Tony and Roseann Wilshere in Ajijic.  Says the New York Times: “… vocal resonance which makes a profoundly startling impression.” Don’t forget next Year’s Festival dates are February 11-26, 2017.  Mark your calendar now.
