Lakeside music academy celebrates 25 years with a special holiday concert

Ajijic musician and composer Victor Manuel Medeles was a fellow of the State Council for Culture and the Arts (CECA) when he was commissioned by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA) to create a center for musical education on the banks of Lake Chapala. He founded the non-profit Centro Regional de Estudios Musicales music academy (CREM) in 1990.

Russian soprano Svetlana Ilchenko performs Russian and Ukrainian folk songs, French classics and other genres of music with piano accompaniment at St. Remy du Lac (at Casa Tres Leones). The four-course gala ginner, including a welcome cocktail, is at 6 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7 p.m.
