Green weekend at Gourmeteria

La Gourmeteria complex of restaurants just south of El Palomar on Lopez Mateos is serving up a variety of ecological experiences throughout the Buen Fin weekend.

Greenpeace is offering workshops Saturday and Sunday. See the program at Facebook/lagourmeteriagdl. An ecological science show is presented by Planeta Aventuras Saturday, 5 p.m., La Huerta is putting on a special edition of its organic market, Sunday 1-6 p.m. Gaia spa is offering free Shiatsu massages Saturday and Sunday 1-6 p.m. Free yoga classes are offered by Reiki Shantie Galivanes Sunday and Monday at 1 p.m.

Ink Fest has good sounds too

Tattoos rule at Viva La Tanta 2015 held at Salon Fiesta Guadalajara November 13-15, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Jazz, rock and other bands (including Troker, Dirty Black Beans and many more) will entertain, while seminars, competitions and tattoo artist exhibitions will be held throughout the event. Salon Fiesta Guadalajara is located at Lopez Mateos 610 in Colonia Arcos Vallarta Sur, just a block from the intersection with Avenida Guadalupe.

Antiques show at Demetria Hotel

Head over to the avant garde Demetria Hotel (Av. La Paz 2219) this weekend, Friday, November 13 through Sunday, November 15, to see leading antique dealers show their wares.  An auction talkes place Saturday at 8 p.m. Free valuations are available from noon to 2 p.m. on all three days.  Open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

More bulls at Nuevo Progreso

For those who can stomach the spectacle, the third bullfight of the fall season takes place Sunday, November 15, 4:30 p.m. at the Nuevo Progreso bullring (Monte Pirenos 1930). The featured matadors are Eulalio Lopez Zotoluco, Octavio Garcia “El Payo,” and Andres Roca Rey.

Oxxo round-ups go to Red Cross

When they ask you to donate your centavitos at Oxxo this month, say yes, as all rounding ups in the metro area go directly to the Jalisco Cruz Roja during November. The practice in Spanish is called redondeo.
