INM officials hand out permits to Lakeside expats

Officials from the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) visited the Lake Chapala Society on Friday, July 25 to deliver immigration credentials to 21 foreigners who have recently qualified for temporary and permanent residency in Mexico.

Regional Immigration chief Ricardo Vera Lira gave a warm welcome to the group saying, “We are happy and honored to have you living here at the Ribera de Chapala where the Mexican people have such a long history of fraternity with the U.S.-Canadian community.”

In side remarks to the local press he stated that he plans to regularly rotate key INM officials to different posts within his sphere of command so that they will become more familiar with the full scope of INM duties in order to better provide foreigners with efficient and  amicable services.
