LCS annual meeting lays out inclusive panorama for future

Ben White was re-elected as the president of the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) board of directors at the recent annual members meeting.

In his report, White highlighted LCS’ new mission statement: “To promote the active participation of Lakeside’s inhabitants to improve their quality of lives.”

White said this new commitment signals to the community that LCS’ focus will not only be on expatriates but everyone living at Lakeside.  LCS will optimize programs and services to assure continued relevance, he said.

LCS already provides more than 30 weekly programs for the community, as well as a range of services and events that include facilitating the acquisition of INAPAM (Instituto Nacional de las Personas Adultas Mayores) cards for special senior discounts, health fairs, a student aide summit, career day programs and more.

White informed members that the LCS has purchased Ruth Darling’s lakefront property to help with its expansion plans. These will not interrupt services and the society will retain its current beautiful green spaces, he promised.

White said over the coming year the LCS will continue to augment its existing offerings and implement new and improved programs to support its mission.
