Beautiful Movements
Renowned dancer/choreographer/promoter Melissa Castillo Caviedes has produced a dance spectacle guaranteed to impress any audience. La Magia de la Dance Spring will be performed on March 26, 8 p.m. in the Exposition Hall at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort Hotel, Blvd. Francisco Medina Ascencio 999 across from the sports stadium. This is a fundraiser for Los Mangos Library.
Doors open at at 7 p.m., when there will be a cash bar available. After the show you can enjoy snacks or dinner at any of the hotel’s restaurants and receive a 20-percent discount on food and beverages if you present your ticket stub.
Tickets are 350 pesos in advance and 400 pesos at the door. They can be purchased at Biblioteca Los Mangos, Av. Francisco Villa 1001 in Colonia Versalles (credit cards accepted), Hotel Belmar, Insurgentes 161 in Old Town or by calling Cecilia at 322 223-4606.
La Magia de la Dance Spring features choreography with a fresh and dynamic outlook exploring poetic expressions in the origins of movement. Castillo’s intermediate level dancers will be performing. It is a contemporary ballet montage fusing movement, music and voice into one imaginary masterpiece. The evocative music is by local band Agavezzound and vocals by Conny Celis.
Castillo is very involved with the community. She has a weekly dance workshop at Biblioteca Los Mangos, and others promoting excellence in literacy, art and culture.

Social Club
ExPats in Vallarta is an informal group that can lend assistance to expat residents or visitors living, working, investing or considering a move to Puerto Vallarta.
There are around 200 in the group. They organize events at restaurants, host happy hours and even pot lucks at private homes. This is a great way to meet fellow expats getting used to living south of the border and everyone can share stories of their Mexican adventures.

–Happy Hour at Langostino’s Restaurant on the malecon just north of the pier, Tuesday, March 24.
–Special Dinner at Los Muertos Brewing, Lázaro Cardenas 302 in Old Town on March 26, running from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It’s “all you can eat pizza” and there are no seatings after 6 p.m. Los Muertos is a micro brewery known for its homemade pizza. The cost is 85 pesos per person and includes one draft beer or one glass of house wine or one well drink. Tips not included. Tickets must be purchased in advance because seating is limited. Snip & Clip
A healthy animal population reflects a healthy human population. PEACE Animals performs high volume spay-and-neuter clinics for companion animals throughout Banderas Bay.
PEACE Animals is staffed by two full time vets, a vet assistant and a clinic director. There are numerous volunteers that assist with every clinic. Their duties include, registering the animals, assisting with the recovery process and exit interviews.
This mobile unit visited the Nayarit beach town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle from March 4 to 8 and sterilized 173 cats and dogs. The clinic was at its number limit by 9 a.m. every day and pet owners had to be turned away. There are plans for another week of clinics soon.
The next clinic will be held in El Tuito from March 25 to 28.

Art Walk
The seasonal weekly stroll through Puerto Vallarta’s galleries, the Centro Historico Art Walk, started back in October of last year. This is the 17th year organizers have showcased some of Mexico’s finest artists, as well
as artists from other countries who have decided to make Vallarta their home.
The Art Walk continues through May 27, and runs from 6 to 10 p.m. every Wednesday.
The self-guided walking tour includes nine galleries, each providing cocktails and exhibitions in the city’s historic downtown area. Artists display their work in various mediums and are usually on hand to answer any questions. For more info and the map, visit VallartaArtWalk.com
Local Marketing
The Old Town Farmer’s Market-Tianguis Cultural will run every Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. until the last Saturday in April. The market is located in Lazaro Cardenas Park on the south side of town just one block from Los Muertos beach.
About 30 vendors sell all kinds of goods, including organic produce, apparel for the family, homemade dips and salsas, fresh cut flowers, coffee, breads, cheeses, chocolates, handcrafted jewelry, body products, refreshing beverages plus take home and freshly prepared foods.
