Good deed bowls over Mexican tourist

One Mexican tourist has been overwhelmed by the generosity of a Good Samaritan in the United States, Spanish-language daily Mural told its readers this week.

Andrea Serrano thought she had seen the last of her purse when she left it on the beach in La Jolla, California while taking a photo of a friend.

Imagine her surprise when she got back to her home in Mexico after her holiday to find a package containing the missing purse.  A note accompanying the parcel said, “Reply, please, to let me know you received this. God bless you.” Victor D.

The purse had been returned with all her IDs and $US83 in cash intact. Serrano didn’t even have to pay the $US18 it cost Victor D.  to mail the package.

“There are good people everywhere. I was lucky to find one,”  Serrano told Mural.

Serrano said she would be sending her thanks to Victor D., along with a package containing typical Mexican candies and a bottle of tequila.
