The following foods and materials have been requested by the Red Cross to send to needy families on the Jalisco coast. Please do not donate clothes, shoes or medicines, they ask.
Cans of tuna or sardines, beans, sugar, salt, coffee, lentils, tinned vegetables, mayonnaise, cooking oil, cookies, milk and chocolate milk powder. Also, soap, buckets, brushes, brooms, cleaning liquids, toilet paper, tooth brushes, shampoo, sanitary pads and disposable razors.
Note that all Wal-Mart supermarkets in Mexico are accepting donations. That includes the store in Ajijic.
