Kiss the Blarney Stone ... and then go out for corned beef

They say there are only two kinds of people in the world: the Irish and those who wish they were.

You can celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day (Tuesday, March 17) by staying at home and watching parades in the snow on TV, or enjoy it chatting with like-minded souls at a host of lakeside eateries and bars.

Hacienda Don Pedro’s (on the carretera in West Ajijic) is putting on the dog with pub food, draft beer and tequila and says you don’t have to be Irish to enjoy a good fiesta. From noon. Call 766-4906 for reservations.

Casino Foliatti (Centro Laguna on the Libramiento) is giving away 30,000 points in prizes to those who want to see if the pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow. They plan a giant green cake, gifts and music.
