Foreigner suspected in rash of break-ins

Expat residents have become alarmed by a recent rash of attempted break-ins and home burglaries in the lakeside area. At least ten known cases have occurred in the stretch between La Floresta and La Canacinta since the last week of November.

In two incidents householders were attacked by an intruder armed with pepper spray who then fled the premises empty handed. The victims described the perpetrator as a stocky man close to six feet in height who appears to be a foreigner. It appears that a gray or silver Isuzu with foreign plates may be connected to the suspect’s activity.
