She married Joe Makinajiah in 1983 and the couple moved to Lakeside in 1994, first to a home in Ajijic and then to Riberas del Pilar. Alice participated in productions at the Lakeside Little Theatre, was seen frequently in local fashion shows, was generous with attention and donations to local charities and was a member of the Writers’ Club.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Joe Makinajiah of Lakeside; a daughter, Janet Whittemore (Richard) of Long Island, New York; a son, Christopher Mannarino of Georgia and a grandson, Thomas Whittemore of Long Island.
