The free classical music series Martes de Musica y Opera will move house during September from the Degollado Theater to the Teatro Alarife Martin Casillas. September 29: the Orquesta Típica de Guadalajara directed by Ramón Becerra interprets polkas and waltzes, including Strauss’ “The Blue Danube.”

The Diego Urcola Quintet will feature in the next concert in the excellent Jazz at Lincoln Center series sponsored by the University of Guadalajara. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, three‑time Grammy nominee Diego Urcola has been a member of the Paquito D’Rivera Quintet since 1991. Additionally, the oft‑in‑demand trumpeter performs regularly with the legendary saxophonist Jimmy Heath, the Caribbean Jazz Project and the Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All‑Star Big Band.
