UK presents top-class acts in FIL entertainment program

Performers from the United Kingdom will take the stage of the Foro FIL (in the Expo Guadalajara esplanade) for nine consecutive nights during the FIL. The acts include cutting-edge and electrifying expressions of contemporary British music and dance, as well as more traditional artistic interpretations. All shows start at 9 p.m. and are free.

Saturday, November 28:  Spector. Indie rock garage quartet.

Sunday, November 29: Contemporary British folk music from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Monday, November 30: Aurora Orchestra. Founded in 2005, one of the UK’s most dynamic chamber orchestras.

Tuesday, November 1: Wayne McGregor Company. A program presented by multi-award-winning choreographer and director, one of the UK’s most  inventive contemporary dance talents.

Wednesday, December 2: Little Boots. Stage name of electropop singer-songwriter and DJ Victoria Christina Hesketh. 

Thursday, December 3:  Graeae Theatre Company. Trailblazing company that boldly places disabled artists centre-stage. They will present “Reasons to be Cheerful,” a gritty coming of age tale featuring Ian Dury & the Blockheads’ greatest hits.

Friday, December 4: The Cinematic Orchestra. Nu-jazz and electronic music group formed in 1999.

Saturday, December 5: Frank Turner and the Sleeping Sounds.  World-class folk rock performers.

Sunday, December 6: Jazz Jamaica. Band inspired by Caribbean roots have a reputation as “one of the UK’s leading good-time bands.”
