Next week’s sixth Lorena Ochoa Invitational could be the last time the prestigious LPGA golf tournament is played at the Guadalajara Country Club, organizers are saying. 

With an estimated 650 million dollars at stake, Mexico’s upcoming World Soccer Cup qualifiers against New Zealand on November 13 and 19 represent the national side’s most significant games in decades.

Although Mexico is unlikely to send any competitors to the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia next year, the games will be screened here thanks to communications magnate Carlos Slim, whose company America Movil acquired the transmission rights earlier this year.
