Fourth of July restaurant options

Manix Restaurant is throwing what is being billed as a “real” Fourth of July Celebration on July 4, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the malecon next to the Ajijic pier. The buffet with grilled chicken, BBQ pork ribs, potato salad, fresh green salad, baked beans, vegetable salad and fresh fruit salad will be topped off with home made ice cream. Frankie Dino will provide the entertainment and a cash bar will be open. Tickets are 180 pesos and are on sale now. The telephone number is 766-0061.

60s in Paradise (Hidalgo 10, Ajijic) will offer a free beer with any order of a hamburger or a hot dog during the week of July 1 to July 7. The restaurant is open from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. The telephone number is 766-4721.

Roberto’s Restaurant (Carretera Pte. 135 in Ajijic) will feature a lunch special on July 4 with a burger or Costco hot dog, BBQ ribs, baked beans, potato salad and slaw for 75 pesos. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. The phone number is 766-1616.

Los Telares (Morelos 6, Ajijic) will serve a special menu on July 4. It includes hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, baked beans, potato salad, watermelon and 4th of July cake for 130 pesos. Margaritas and house wine is two for one from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The live music starts at 5 p.m. Put on your best stars and stripes and head for Los Telares. Call for reservations at 766-0428. Special buffet starts at 5 p.m. and the restaurant will be open with the regular menu beginning at noon.

La Bodega (16 de Septiembre 124, Ajijic) will have a special menu of barbecue ribs, mashed potatoes and salad for 120 pesos, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Live music with Jack and Jerry begins at  6:30 p.m. Call 766-1002 for reservations.
