Guadalajara’s newest attraction takes you to the top

At a height of 60 meters, Guadalajara’s brand new ferris wheel is the biggest in Latin America.

The wheel, which stands beside the Gran Plaza and Avenida Vallarta, will be open to the public from Friday, July 26. The installation cost Grupo Divertido 140 million pesos, a figure they hope to recoup within two years from ticket sales and sponsorshsip. Rides lasting 20 minutes will cost from 70 to 90 pesos. If it proves popular enough, the wheel will remain in Guadalajara permanently; if not, it will be moved after a year to Mexico City and then Monterrey.
