Work to restart on city’s modern art museum

Construction is set to restart on the modern art museum overlooking the Huentitan canyon on the northeastern outskirts of Guadalajara.

Work began at the end of 2011 but stopped last year after funds to continue the project dried up, explained Lorenza Dipp, president of the  trust fund overseeing the construction of the Barranca Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.

The final bill for the museum is expected to be between 30 and 35 million dollars.  So far, around 13 million has been spent on the design and foundations for the building.
