The hand-out of free school supply kits to students enrolled in Chapala area public schools hit a snag last week when the state government failed to deliver its full share of materials.
According to Chapala press chief Roberto Arroyo, the city government full met its commitment to supply 3,894 kits, putting them all in the hands of school kids by August 27. By then the state had made good on its obligation to deliver the school supplies for all class levels except primarily level grades four and five. What did not arrive were approximately 6,000 backpacks still lacking for the use of kindergarten, elementary and secondary students.
